Main Street announces winners of annual art contest

What do you get when you mix a little creativity, a cool town, and a lot of passion? You get "Hot Art."
Hot art that could only be seen on Saturday night in the Marshall Visual Arts Center at the nd Annual Art Contest hosted by the Marshall Main Street.
The 1st place purchase award in the amount of $1000 went to Dennis O'Bryant, a graphic designer for Smart Advertising. For his entry "Mr. Don at the Third Grand Opening" an acrylic/collage piece.
"This was a unique opportunity for an artist. I had done a prior piece of Mr. Don so I decided to enter this one. If you know or have ever seen Mr. Don he is an older man who walks around picking up cans and not what he seems. I met him downtown and stopped to speak with him and found him to have a gentle soul. I was at this event at Jenny's Wine Shop and kind of held my camera up an took a picture and then combined the photo and the painting as only an artist can," O'Bryant said.
